What to Expect in a Somatic Therapy session with Dr. Celeste

A somatic session is a safe and supportive space to reconnect with your body, release held stress, and build inner resilience. Sessions are gentle, intuitive, and guided by your unique experience — no two are exactly the same.

Here’s what you can expect:

1. Settling In

We begin by creating a grounded container. You’ll have time to land in the space, share what’s on your mind or body today, and get clear on your intentions.

2. Gentle Awareness & Body Tracking

Using guided awareness, we tune into your body’s sensations, movements, images, breath, and impulses. You’ll never be asked to re-live trauma or go deeper than you want. Instead, we follow subtle cues — warmth, tension, movement, or stillness — and explore what your body is ready to process.

3. Regulation & Release

We work with cycles of activation and settling (red and blue states) using tools like:

  • Titration (small doses of sensation or memory)
  • Pendulation (moving between comfort and challenge)
  • Orientation (using your senses to feel present and safe)

These help your nervous system process what’s stuck, without overwhelm.

4. Movement and Posture (Optional)

Depending on your comfort level and the session focus, I may integrate gentle movements for you that you may have naturally expressed during our session, or new ones to support release and grounding. This is always optional and guided by your consent.

5. Integration & Takeaways

We’ll close with time to reflect, ground, and integrate what has surfaced. I may suggest a homeopathic or Bach flower remedy, movement, journaling prompts, or a simple nervous system practice to support you between sessions.
